London City Island

London City Island is a residential complex located in East London near Canary Wharf (in zone 2), nicknamed a “mini Manhattan”. It is linked to Canning Town through a red bridge, and you can in fact reach Canning Town DLR station with a 3 minute walk.

Composed of 1,145 flats, City Island hosts the London Film School and the English National Ballet in addition to services like pubs, restaurants, retail, shops and open spaces also used to show public art.

The flats themselves, planned by Glenn Howells Architects, have a warehouse aesthetic, with open plan living spaces and loft-style characteristics which draw design elements from the history of the surrounding area of Leamouth.
